A section of Indian media has been claiming that the Delhi AIIMS servers were hacked from China.

A total of five main servers were targeted by the cyber-attack suspected to be carried out by Chinese hackers, India Today reported citing Delhi Police' IFSO sources.

Speaking on the cyber-attack, India’s IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, said that there could be a big organized gang behind it.

Terming it a larger conspiracy, the Minister said that the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Delhi Police are investigating the matter.

Hackers have allegedly demanded an estimated Rs 200 crore in cryptocurrency from AIIMS.

The cyber-attack has compromised around 3-4 crore patients’ data includes details of VVIPs, including politicians and celebrities.
