Twitter Shadowbanning Is Real

Elon Musk has confirmed that politicians were shadowbanned on Twitter during elections across the world.

Twitter's new boss announced today that the company is working on a new update to let users know if they are shadowbanned.

"Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status," Musk said in a tweet.

Musk’s announcement came as Free Press journalist Bari Weiss published screenshots of company documents suggesting Twitter employees downplayed conservative voices on the platform.

Shadowbanning refers to decreasing and blocking the visibility of user's posts from appearing on searches and popular suggestions.

This malpractice upholds freedom of speech to an extent, but it practically makes their posts redundant, since no one can see them.

Since the Twitter takeover, Musk has been making dramatic changes including laying off company staff, changing content moderation and verification policies and revoking controversial handles.
