Internet users saw an ad-free internet for several hours on Thursday.

A Google service, which relied upon many large websites to sell and display ads, was down for several hours on Thursday, two ad managers said.

News websites such as NYT, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times were among the most affected websites by the Google service down.

Due to Google outage, a large news website has lost thousands of dollars in an hour.

“The issue with Google Ad Manager has been resolved and ad serving has now been restored for the affected users,” Google said in a tweet on Thursday.

However, all it happened during a key revenue period as advertisers promote holiday deals.

During the outage, ads continued to appear on Google’s own services such as YouTube.
