German Foreign Office Objects To Elon Musk’s Decision Story: Divya Sinha
Twitter suspended the accounts of journalists from The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post and other news publications on Thursday.
To this, the German Foreign Office tweeted screenshots of the journalist's account banned from Twitter on Friday.
The tweet detailed that "Press freedom cannot be switched on and off on a whim.”
Further, they warned Twitter stating, “We have a problem with that, @Twitter."
Wolfgang Buechner, deputy government spokesperson quote retweeted and mentioned that the arbitrary suspension of journalist accounts on Twitter is unacceptable.
Buechner added that if this continues, he will leave this platform and also share his Mastodon id with his followers.
The accounts of these journalists were suspended a day after Twitter altered its policies on accounts that doxx live locations.
