“I Wasn’t Running Alameda”- SBF

Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried claims that he didn’t knowingly mix funds in an interview at DealBook Summit.

During the interview, SBF completely distanced himself from Alameda.

He continuously said “I wasn’t running Alameda” and stated that he was nervous to be too involved because of the conflict of interest.

SBF tried to escape the blame saying he hadn’t been thinking about its finances and making decisions.

SBF further claims that he was not aware of the relationship depth between FTX and Alameda and said, “I didn’t know the size of their position”.

He mentioned that it was a “failure of oversight” and also “a failure to appoint someone to be chiefly in charge of that”.

Brian Sullivan, a Business Journalist at CNBC, tweeted that Sam during the interview put his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison and the Alameda hedge fund under many, many buses.
