Twitter Seems To Ban Posting Links Of Its Competitor

As per the reports, Twitter appears to be blocking tweets containing links to the competing social media platform Mastodon.

The ban came out on Thursday on the platform after the journalists and Mastodon's own accounts were unexpectedly banned.

When attempting to tweet Mastodon links, this resulted in the error message stating “This link has been identified as potentially harmful by Twitter or our partners.”

Twitter is currently blocking links to their original server mastodon.social and 10 other domains.

Mastodon's Twitter account was suspended and the reason is still not known.

Twitter and Mastodon haven’t responded to this yet.

Twitter has also rolled out a new policy that prohibits people from sharing other people's locations.
